Quick Take Former U.S. President Donald Trump was announced as one of the speakers at the upcoming Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville. Since earlier this year, Trump has actively endorsed the crypto industry.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump was announced as one of the speakers at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, which is one of the world's largest bitcoin conferences, takes place from July 25 to 27.

Over the past few months, the presumptive Republican Party presidential nominee has expressed strong support for the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.

Last month, Trump said at an event at Mar-a-Lago that he would advocate for bitcoin mining if he becomes president. In May, Trump started accepting political donations in cryptocurrencies. His advocacy has earned him backing from prominent figures in crypto such as Gemini founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, and Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood .

Other U.S. politicians are also set to speak at Bitcoin 2024, including presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Republican Sens. Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn. Kennedy Jr. had given a keynote speech at Bitcoin 2023 in support of crypto, where he pledged to ensure people’s right to hold and use bitcoin is “inviolable.”

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden’s campaign has reportedly been reaching out to members of the crypto industry for guidance on digital asset policies, but has yet to make significant announcements related to crypto or blockchain.

In a Tuesday letter, U.S. tech industry group the Chamber of Progress has urged Biden to voice support for comprehensive crypto regulation, saying that Trump has capitalized on the Biden administration's lack of clarity.

Users on decentralized prediction market Polymarket currently forecast a 63% chance that Trump would win in the upcoming November presidential election, while only 13% predict a victory for Biden.
