Survey: women earn more than men in crypto
Women earn 15% more than men in the crypto industry, according to Pantera Capital's salary survey. This is a bright spot in the crypto industry, and stands out from traditional industries where women typically earn only 84 per cent of what men earn. The survey shows that women in the crypto industry are typically more experienced and tend to be in mid-level to senior positions, with more than five years of experience predominating. The fact that women earn more despite controlling for the experience factor may be due to the fact that they have overcome more obstacles within the industry, demonstrating a higher level of resilience and competence. Alternatively, other theories such as men earning less than women or women being more risk-averse do not fit the data. The reversal of the wage gap in the crypto industry may indicate that it offers better opportunities for women, signalling the potential for this emerging field to move towards greater gender equality.
